Oscar - Charcater Movement Sketches

These are just a few sketches of my character which i'm designing for a short Flash animation i'm going to make called Oscar. I wanted to look at how angle and camera will effect my perception of him and give me a wider understanding of his character before I attempt to convey this on screen.

Oscar - Further Concept Art

This is just a comical representation of my character Oscar who I intend to create a short animation for. This is just a quick image showing the outcome of my animation and what happens when a cute kitty plays with a live wire!

Oscar - Inital Character Designs

These are some of my initial images for my character design of Oscar the cat done using flash. I wanted to experiment with the look of his character and in particular the shape of his head in conjunction with his body.

Oscar - Researching Into Character Design

I wanted to do some research into a more naturalistic style of drawing for my animation to gain a wider understanding of a cat’s muscular structure and the general movement when in motion. I came up with these images and the key frames of a cat pouncing which I could then animate adding in concepts such as line of action and follow through.

Flash - Designing Characters to Animate

Although I do not intend to use this character in my final animation, I decided to upload a couple of concept images for 'Scarf Boy.'

Experimenting with Flash

This is my first character designed using Flash! I just created him experimenting with different brush sizes and colour tools.
